ESC's One to Watch: Tom O'Toole

The Elliot School of Communication honors outstanding achievement in the profession with the "One to Watch" award.  This year, Jeff Jarman will present the award to Tom O'Toole.    Afterwards, O'Toole will tell audiences about how corporations are investing in communication consultants, specifically to manage their message in high stakes litigation.

Students of communications, business, and other fields would do well to attend.  Tsongas, O'Toole'sfirm, is widely regarded for their excellent work.  O'Toole has been well-received at law firms, local & regional bar associations, and even the American Bar Association.  When asked what theories from communications are most employed in his work, he pointed to narrative rationality, neuroeconomics, and the elaboration likelihood model as key tools in his kit.

Maybe you know that someday, you'd like to work in communications.  But more likely than not, Tom O'Toole will be able to show you that in high stakes litigation (which can involve anyone, from any field) you can't avoid the communications discipline's insights and application, without losing a great deal of net worth.

So feel free to check out more info on Facebook and like the event on the ESC Comm Week wall!  If you can't attend, just follow the #commweek or #tomotoole hashtags on Twitter.
